Our expertise stems from decades of restructuring practice, where every second counts. In our transformation and turnaround situations, we put this expertise to use in a different way: instead of taking a directive top-down action, we facilitate the analysis- and conceptual process with those who will carry the change in the long term: your entire management team. This way, it may take two to three weeks longer to develop the concept, but, on the other hand, it (almost) implements itself.

Getting to know each other

Initial hypotheses Initial consultation, 2-3 hours
During a two- to three-hour conversation, you will gain a first impression of us and we will develop an initial understanding of you: your situation, your goals, and the challenges you are facing. Afterwards, you will receive an initial assessment of whether we see additional value in a joint effort and if so, what our approach looks like – as well as some initial ideas that may help you even without a further engagement.

Orientation

Assessment of potentials, 2-4 weeks
Within two to four weeks, we identify and evaluate your organization’s potential and uncover additional opportunities – to guide your management team, enable coordinated prioritization, and facilitate closer analysis. A highly effective team of experts conducts personal interviews with selected executives and experienced analysts create quantitative analyses. This phase closes in a joint evaluation of the results in a jointly held workshop. For decisions requiring detailed consideration, we provide you with proven methods of analysis.

The way forward

In black and white. Concept phase, 4–6 weeks
In a phase lasting four to six weeks, we develop qualified templates for particularly wide-ranging transformation measures so you can make confident decisions about them within this timeframe. We also create a concept that presents the situation, goals, and management agenda in a coherent and easily understandable way—making it comprehensible for all stakeholders who will be involved.  Finally, we map out the complete program of measures in an integrated financial plan. This ensures that the transformation leads to the desired earnings target and does not overstretch the available financial resources along the way.

Team line-up and first steps

Initiation phase, 4-8 weeks
Within four to eight weeks, we establish an effective implementation organization that ensures the success of the transformation. Together with your operational managers, we detail the measures from the concept, translate them into a high-performance project organization, establish communication formats, and set up quantitative performance monitoring. This paves the way for successful implementation.

The marathon

Implementation phase, 6-24 months
To accelerate implementation, we provide you with support in terms of capacity and expertise over the following months: at the operational level, in project management, and/or, if required, in management as consultants with general power of attorney or in executive management as Chief Transformation Officer or Chief Restructuring Officer. We are also happy to assist you in the search for and selection of suitable executives.
